Can Earthing Affect Chronic Inflammation? Case Study
Grounding is a practice that is gaining increasing recognition in the world of alternative medicine and natural healing. In many cases, especially in the context of chronic inflammation, grounding has been shown to be an effective method of supporting health. In this article, we will look at one of the cases described in the research on grounding collected by Dr. William Amal, who conducted a series of clinical studies on the use of electron transfer technology (ETT), or grounding, in the treatment of chronic conditions. The case studies presented were conducted at an outpatient clinical treatment center in Redwood City, California.
Case Study #1: A 33-Year-Old Woman with Chronic Knee Pain
In the first case described, the study involved a 33-year-old woman who had been struggling with chronic right knee pain for 18 years. The problems began at age 15 after a gymnastics-related injury. The pain was so severe that the patient was unable to stand for long periods of time, and driving a car exacerbated the symptoms. To reduce the pain during sleep, she had to sleep with a pillow between her knees. Despite numerous medical and physical therapy treatments, the patient did not experience significant relief.
The clinical trial used Electron Transfer Technology (ETT), which is equivalent to clinical grounding. After just 30 minutes of ETT exposure, the patient reported a 50% reduction in pain, which was a huge surprise to her. The following days brought further improvement – after three days, the pain was reduced by 90%, and after five days, the patient noticed that the swelling had completely subsided.
Possible Effects of Grounding in Treating Chronic Pain
Thermographic images taken before and after ETT treatment show a marked improvement in inflammation around the knee. The significant reduction in inflammation confirms the effectiveness of grounding in treating chronic inflammation. Furthermore, the patient, who had previously been forced to use numerous medical procedures, experienced significant relief after just a few days of grounding.

The top row of images shows knees taken in a walking position, before grounding began. The arrow indicates the exact location of the patient's pain and indicates a significant area of inflammation. The bottom row shows a significant reduction in inflammation after just 30 minutes of grounding. This image was taken using medical thermography (high-resolution medical infrared imaging).
Summary
The case of this 33-year-old woman is a great example of how grounding can provide relief for people with chronic conditions. By simply connecting with the natural energy of the Earth, it is possible to reduce inflammation and improve quality of life. It is worth considering grounding as an adjunct to traditional treatments, especially in cases where other therapies have failed.
